Truth and Lies
PAGE IN PROGRESS
What you see here is a page of my hypertext book Me, Looking for Meaning. Initially empty, it will slowly be filled with thoughts, notes, and quotes. One day, I will use them to write a coherent entry, similar to these completed pages. See this post to better understand my creative process. Thank you for your interest and patience!

I think that most of the harm that people do to themselves and others comes from people not being honest to themselves and others about their thoughts and actions. It's not the same as lying, though. People have often fundamental misunderstanding of themselves and others, and they also have pressures, needs, expectations to follow. They tell stories to themselves and others about why they act in a certain way. These stories seldom tell the whole truth, often because this truth remains concealed from the storytellers themselves. People tell stories about reasons of their actions and they often honestly believe these stories because they want to conform to certain ideas and ideals. Examples to explore: Manifest Destiny.
