Some may say this is the exact reason I believe in empathy.
How can I keep doing what I am doing if it's clear that people have an amazing capacity to embrace an idea theoretically but then to completely ignore how they do not follow this same idea in their own practice. One thing is to embrace something rationally and another thing is to act on certain emotions and ignore the rational decision completely (see elephant and rider metaphor).
