Paradox
PAGE IN PROGRESS
What you see here is a page of my hypertext book Me, Looking for Meaning. Initially empty, it will slowly be filled with thoughts, notes, and quotes. One day, I will use them to write a coherent entry, similar to these completed pages. See this post to better understand my creative process. Thank you for your interest and patience! :)

Carl Jung captured this idea well when he wrote: "Only the paradox comes anywhere near to comprehending the fullness of life. Non-ambiguity and non-contradiction are one-sided and thus unsuited to express the incomprehensible."
One can say that human being is a walking paradox, because of all the paradoxes of the human nature [link].
walking paradox starts with the fact that humans managed to grown bigger brains that did not seem to be a huge advantage for the most part of human history. They are heavy, require a lot of energy and take priority over muscles (see Harari, Sapiens, chapter 1)
Fit in but stand out
curious, but not necessarily about the source of information
empathic but cruel
wanting novelty and familiarity
language as essential for communication is, connection, understanding, healing; language as unhelpful, leading to misunderstanding, confusion, conflict
Paradox = ambiguity. An ability to accept ambiguity is essential for mental health.
we need attention but not too much attention (fear of public speaking)
Contradiction as essential aspect of any human culture (see Harari, Sapiens, chapter 9); they are essential for cultural development; contradictions are often expressed through art
our brains do not like contradictions because contradictions mean uncertainty
uncertainty is unsettling
human behavior is following certain pattern yet there is a huge variability of ways to do things; you can see that in all the disagreements people have on how to go things; when you visit somebody you know and see how they do things in their household, it can be a revelation or a surprise (annoying) to see that something you do one way they go very differently (like wading dishes or tending their garden). Or debates about parenting
