Inner Compass
PAGE IN PROGRESS
What you see here is a page of my hypertext book Me, Looking for Meaning. Initially empty, it will slowly be filled with thoughts, notes, and quotes. One day, I will use them to write a coherent entry, similar to these completed pages. See this post to better understand my creative process. Thank you for your interest and patience! :)

Inner compass is what allows us to discover our true purpose. Paradoxically, it can also tell us when we need to forget about our purpose and just enjoy our existence. Following our inner compass is a way of understanding ourselves, which is a form of self-empathy.
Following the inner compass may mean allowing ourselves not to form opinions right away, which in the age of social networks seems especially counterproductive but is especially crucial.
"what a relief to have nothing to say, the right to say nothing, because only then is there a chance of framing the rare, and ever rarer, thing that might be worth saying" (quote found here https://medium.com/@the_jennitaur/how-to-do-nothing-57e100f59bbb)
dharma
I have always been very sensitive to suffering. I wanted to understand why people hurt each other, and how it can be avoided. I have focused on suffering and discomfort that people bring to each other. Most suffering and discomfort that people experience is related to the way people are, to their relationships. So I wanted to understand people and their relationships. And I was always looking for complex explanations (not just good guys vs. bad guys).

The Great Work of Your Life:
self-reflection based on reading this book
- My goal: I want people to understand the value of solving social problems through radical empathy
- Understanding my doubts as part of learning: “I was fascinated to hear Lonny describe how, often, just when he thought he had reached a solid ground of understanding, some new insight would pull the ground out from under him—and he’d feel disoriented, as if everything he thought he knew was dropping away. In these times, Lonny would doubt himself: Am I hypnotizing myself into believing a complex metaphysic that is actually baseless? he wondered… Then, inevitably, a bigger picture would emerge—more complete than before—and Lonny would gain higher ground in his practice.”
- I have also always was fascinated by complexity of human relationships (things are not black and white, lots of paradoxes - not all the narratives just show good guys vs bad guys, some do hint at the complexity)
- Let desire give birth to aspiration. 2. When difficulties arise, see them as your dharma. 3. Turn the wound into light.
- how my writing and poesy are connected : what I cannot say in prose, I write in poetry, what I cannot say in a poem, I write in prose
I am an introvert and observer of other people’s interactions
