Why Do Misunderstandings Happen?
PAGE IN PROGRESS
What you see here is a page of my hypertext book Me, Looking for Meaning. Initially empty, it will slowly be filled with thoughts, notes, and quotes. One day, I will use them to write a coherent entry, similar to these completed pages. See this post to better understand my creative process. Thank you for your interest and patience! :)

Misunderstandings are frustrating and emotionally painful. Why do they even happen? Why cannot all human communication be transparent and problem-free. I believe that it is important to see misunderstandings not as a glitch, but as a norm of human interactions. To me, it's amazing that people are actually able to "speak the same language", set a achieve common goals together.
when people actually understand each other, it’s a miracle
1) Misunderstandings happen because we are human beings equipped with ingenuous but imperfect senses and brains.
2) Misunderstandings happen because each person has unique traits and experiences.
3) Misunderstandings happen because we cannot directly download our experiences, sensations, emotions and thoughts into another person, like sending data from one computer to another. We need to use language, which is a form of media, and as such a useful but imperfect tool.
