May I Meet This, Too, with Kindness

PAGE IN PROGRESS
What you see here is a page of my hypertext book Me, Looking for Meaning. Initially empty, it will slowly be filled with thoughts, notes, and quotes. One day, I will use them to write a coherent entry, similar to these completed pages. See this post to better understand my creative process. Thank you for your interest and patience! :)

Insight during blood test
Example when we want to eat less sweets, then we feel upset about not eating them, then frustrated about being upset
-if a child comes to and says he is afraid, will you be angry at them and try to send them away, or will you be kind to them, keep them close and try to understand what is going on without judgement?

Death Becomes Her (if we did not feel pain, we would fall apart)

From the Intro to the SOAR course: "
It is essential to have fear. We need it to alert us when danger MAY be present. It automatically prepares the body for action. We master fear by learning to embrace it as a natural and essential part of living; otherwise, fear masters us."

my piece on medium

mindfulness - observing the present moment without judgment
my mistake: when I experience emotion e that I don’t like, to sit down and meditate to try to get rid of them; this is not without judgment!
Useful shift of perspective: I observe my emotions because I want to give them attention. They are there are fir a reason, I should not try to get rid of them, I should respect them and give them attention

I use AI tools as a kind of writing partner—to shape drafts, clarify arguments, and explore phrasing. But the ideas, perspectives, and direction are always my own. Every piece here is part of an evolving personal project. For more details about my use of AI, see here.
